Policies

Grading Policy:

Daily Grades (60% of grade): Students daily grades will consist of but are not limited to: homework, warm-ups, journal grades, lab investigations, note-taking activities, and class work.  It is important for homework to be completed to help practice new skills learned and to review other skills.

Major Grades (40% of grade): Each six weeks there will be a minimum of three major grades given.  Major grades include tests, quizzes, and other projects.

Absent/Make-up work:

If students are absent from class they will be required to make-up any missed assignments.

Homework:

Mondays & Wednesdays

Late/Missing work:

Every assignment is expected to be turned in on time.  Each day late will result in points being deducted from final assignment grade.

Student Folders:

Each week Tuesday Newsday folders will be sent home.  The purpose of the folder is to keep you up to date on your student’s progress in class.  In the folder you will find graded work that can be removed and if students are missing any assignment, I will include a missing assignment report.  Students also have a homework folder and planner which should come home daily and be returned to school each morning.  The homework folder will also include any announcements from the office that do not go home on Tuesday Newsday.  Parents should be checking their students’ planners each night and signing the behavior calendar.
